Peter Liem’s Online Guide to Champagne

ChampagneGuide.net is the web’s most comprehensive guide to the wines and wine producers of Champagne. This online guide features profiles of over 160 champagne producers, from renowned négociant houses to small grower estates. As a professional wine critic, I enjoy an unusual and intimate perspective on the region and its wines, allowing me to bring you an informative, highly detailed and continually updated wine guide written from an insider’s point of view.

Subscription to the site for a full year is US$89 (about €80), the price of a single bottle of vintage champagne. Subscribers have access to profiles of Champagne’s most important producers, as well as tasting notes for over 2000 champagnes, from top-value non-vintage bruts to the most sought-after prestige cuvées. Naturally, you’ll find many of Champagne’s famous houses here, but Champagne’s grower estates are also well-represented, from the long-established elite to the cutting-edge stars of the new generation. Champagne is a wine region of remarkable diversity, and this guide encompasses all the breadth and depth of this celebrated and dynamic place.

What Others are Saying

"One of the most comprehensive efforts yet on the subject, writing with an informed on-the-ground perspective that's virtually unmatched."

Jon Bonné, The San Francisco Chronicle

"Liem’s notes break down the region’s wines with an effortless precision that just may make your next sip of bubbly something to ponder."

Patrick Comiskey, Los Angeles Times

"It is the most in-depth compendium of Champagne info that I've ever run into, largely thanks to the fact that Liem knows more about the history, character, vineyards, soils, terroirs, and producers of this region than anyone else I can think of (save perhaps Tom Stevenson)."

Ray Isle, Food & Wine Magazine

"ChampagneGuide.net is the only wine site I pay for, and it is well worth the money."

Hardy Wallace, Dirty South Wine

"So far it seems Liem could be for Champagne what Burghound is for Burgundy."

Knut Sogner, Vinforum

"[Liem] has an insider’s knowledge of the region yet analyzes it with the freedom of an outsider, writing some of the finest tasting notes and most well informed producer profiles I’ve ever come across."

David McDuff, McDuff's Food & Wine Trail

"I've always thought that 'Champagne' is a far more famous thing than it is a famous wine place. That said, what we now have in Liem's ChampagneGuide.net is a complete guide to the unique and desirable wines produced in that famous dirt. As far as I know, this has never existed on the Internet."
