• Thierry Roset, chef de cave of Charles Heidsieck

    Very sad news from Champagne, as Thierry Roset, chef de cave of Charles Heidsieck, suddenly passed away on Sunday at the age of 54. Roset had been with the house since 1988, working first under Daniel Thibault and then Régis Camus.

    Piper-Heidsieck & Charles Heidsieck had been owned by Remy Cointreau, but the two houses, which essentially operate together as a single entity, were sold to the EPI group in 2011. In 2012, Roset was appointed chef de cave of Charles Heidsieck, with Camus remaining as overall director and retaining his position as chef de cave of Piper-Heidsieck.

    Roset played an instrumental role in the recent renovation of the Charles Heidsieck portfolio, most notably in updating the character of the non-vintage Brut Ré
