The third annual tasting of Terres et Vins de Champagne
took place yesterday at Castel Jeanson
in Aÿ, drawing hundreds of champagne connoisseurs from around the world. While the tasting itself was superb as usual, featuring 18 of Champagne’s most passionate growers pouring a wide range of champagnes and vins clairs
, an even more intriguing event was the private, invitation-only dinner organized by the group the night before, which involved 18 wines paired with 18 different tapas-sized dishes.
This was the first year that Terres et Vins had organized such a gathering, and it was indisputably a success, showcasing the cuisines of two of the Champagne region’s finest chefs, Dominique Giraudeau of Le Grand Cerf
