• 1988 Champagne Louis Roederer Cristal Rosé, Corkbuzz, NYC

    As much as I would love to, I really don't sit around drinking Cristal all the time. Last week, though, I had the rare opportunity to taste a number of the same wines twice over the space of a few days, thanks to Roederer's chef de cave Jean-Baptiste Lecaillon and the distribution team at Maisons Marques & Domaines. The results were rather intriguing.

    Last Tuesday, Roederer hosted a tasting at Corkbuzz in NYC, which I wrote about in my last post. This featured four vintages of Cristal, as well as three vintages of Cristal Rosé: 2005, 1996 and 1988. A couple of days later, I had dinner with Lecaillon and Xavier Barlier of M
